The Delivery Process

Once your handmade mattress has been completed precisely to your order specifications, it is carefully collected from the factory by our dedicated delivery team. From that point onward, your order remains in trusted hands, ensuring full accountability and care throughout the journey.

The delivery team then transports your mattress to their regional warehouse, where delivery routes are organised and scheduled across the UK. As part of this process, the team plans each delivery run efficiently to ensure orders are fulfilled within the stated lead times.

When your mattress is ready to be dispatched on its final journey, the delivery team will contact you directly to arrange a convenient delivery window. We kindly ask that you wait to be contacted, as this allows the scheduling process to run smoothly and ensures your delivery is coordinated correctly. We also respectfully request that you allow the full stated lead time for this process to take place.

If, however, you believe your order is outside of the quoted lead times, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by email and we will be happy to assist. We are proud to maintain a 99.8% on-time delivery rate within our stated lead times. Please note that all lead times are calculated in working days.

100 Night Sleep Trial.

For complete peace of mind, all mattresses and full beds include a 100-night sleep trial. We are confident that you will be delighted with your purchase; however, if you decide it is not the right fit for you, we will arrange collection and provide a full refund or assist you with an exchange for a more suitable option. There are no hidden charges and no quibbles.

We offer a 100-night trial for a very important reason. Organic and natural mattresses require time to properly settle, typically around 90 days. A new mattress is much like a new pair of shoes; there is a natural breaking-in period during which both the materials adjust and your body adapts. This is particularly important if you have been sleeping on a different mattress type for many years, as your body needs time to readjust to improved support and comfort levels.

After 100 nights, if you feel the mattress is not right for you, we will, without hesitation or additional cost, arrange collection and either issue a full refund or help you exchange it, ensuring you ultimately find the perfect mattress for your needs.

Understanding Natural & Organic Mattress Settlement

When investing in a high-quality natural mattress, it is important to understand the concept of mattress settlement.

Unlike mass-produced synthetic mattresses, natural mattresses are crafted using authentic, breathable materials such as wool, cotton, silk . These premium fillings behave differently from foam-based and synthetic alternatives and require a short adjustment period to reach their optimal comfort and support.

Natural settlement is a normal and expected process. In the first few weeks of use, the upholstery layers gently compress and contour in response to your body weight and sleeping patterns. This is not a defect or sagging; rather, it is the materials relaxing and settling into their working position. Because natural fibres are lofted and hand-layered during manufacturing, they begin with a fuller appearance and gradually compact to create a stable, supportive sleeping surface.

Typically, this settlement period lasts between 60 and 90 days

. During this time, both the mattress and your body are adjusting. If you have previously been sleeping on memory foam or an older, worn mattress, your body may need time to adapt to improved spinal alignment and more responsive support. It is common to notice slight dips or body impressions in the early stages—this is a sign that the comfort layers are contouring precisely to you.

Handmade natural mattresses, particularly those that are hand-tufted, are designed to settle evenly over time. Regular rotation, especially during the first three months, plays an important role in ensuring even settlement. Rotating the mattress head-to-foot and turning if a double sided mattress, helps distribute fillings consistently and promotes long-term durability.

One of the key advantages of natural materials is their resilience. While they settle initially, they also retain structure and breath ability, allowing the mattress to maintain comfort and support for many years.

Unlike synthetic foams that can permanently collapse, natural fibres create a firm yet adaptive foundation that improves with proper care.

Understanding natural mattress settlement provides reassurance during the early weeks of ownership. The slight changes you may observe are part of the mattress reaching its true comfort level. With patience and correct maintenance, your natural mattress will develop into a beautifully balanced sleep surface, tailored specifically to you.
